Laws were a way for black people to get around in South Africa until 1986. Similar to the system imposed on First Nation peoples here in Canada, it was a way to control the movements of people, to segregate them from non Indigenous people, and to confine them into one area (in Canada, Reserves, in South Africa, is all very similar to the Jewish Ghettoization that occurred in Nazi Germany during World War II. There were hundreds of anti Jewish laws that were passed, that served to restrict all aspects of life, including basic human rights as well as political, legal, and civil rights.
HI guys! I’ve been so busy this semester that I haven’t had time to post! Most notably, I turned 21 this month and had the amazing opportunity of going to Paris with my parents for spring break! I had the most amazing break and really enjoyed getting to see all of the different spring fashion items Parisians were wearing. I wore this outfit when we explored the Palace of Versailles and got so many compliments on my hat! I got this Anthropologie hat awhile ago, but could never figure out how to wear it! My biggest tip for anyone who wants to try a new, bold piece, is to pair it with a more simple outfit and make it the center of attention. I paired the gray felt hat with a Brandy Melville turtleneck, Frame Denim jeans, Phillip Lim jacket, a YSL bag, Dior sunglasses, and Via Spiga boots.
(VY) Opening the Gongadze case is a question of honor for the government of Ukraine, for today, this remains a failed test of democracy by the administration. I am convinced that sooner or later the public will learn the truth about the death of Heorhiy, and that all of those who ordered and executed this crime will be punished. To open this case, Ukraine needs an honest court system and honest law enforcement institutions.
